Ohayo Pokes
(good morning)

Shim Mi(they/them) is a queer, Japanese-Korean creative residing in Brooklyn, NY.

Their craft, Ohayo Pokes(oh-hī-yoh), is named after their appreciation for mornings and brings that same quiet, tenderness into their tattoo sessions. Shim Mi works toward understanding the human body and how tattooing has been a large part of human connection with each other and ourselves.

Outside of tattooing, Shim Mi spends their time training jiu jitsu. They enjoy the technical skills that allow smaller people to find control in uncomfortable situations.

Now working at a queer/AAPI ran studio Long Time Tattoo, in Brooklyn, they strive honor their clients’ truths, community and body autonomy.
